Morocco is a wonderful destination for women, and travelling in a group makes it even easier. Here is what we tell every woman joining a hosted trip.
Safety
Morocco is generally safe for women. In busy medinas you may hear comments; walking with the group and a guide keeps them rare and easy to ignore.
What to wear
- Loose clothes covering shoulders and knees in medinas and villages
- A large scarf for sun, wind and mosques
- Swimwear is fine at the riad pool
- Comfortable shoes for cobblestones and sand
Women-only trips
Some hosts lead women-only trips, with a female host and, whenever possible, female guides. They are a great choice for solo women and women over 50.
Meeting Moroccan women
- Women's argan cooperatives
- Cooking with a family
- Henna evenings
- The hammam
